Area realtors are spending a lot of time at the airport these days, but they're not vacationing. More and more, they are picking up clients to show them properties in western Montana.
The National Organization of Realtors says sales of previously owned homes rose nearly 25% in July.
New home sales were up 14% according to the Census Survey of Construction.
Personal finance technology company - SmartAsset - just released their annual Best States for Homeowners survey and Montana tied for 14th.
Only six western states were ranked above Montana. Wyoming and Idaho were 1st and 2nd. Utah is 4th and Arizona, Washington and North Dakota are 8th, 10th and 11th. The ranking looked at everything from real estate appreciation to foreclosure rates, taxes and the average cost of homeowners insurance.
